What is a drone?

A drone is a remotely operated vehicle. The word drone is a common word used to describe a multitude of different vehicles whether they operate on land, sea or air. Often they have a level of autonomy to carry out instructions but there usually is a human in the loop. Their function is often to carry a payload of some kind.


Do I need a qualified drone operator?

Regulations state that you require a commercially licensed operator to carry out aerial work in the UK. This is true of UK airspace as it is regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority. If you require an operator for an indoor assignment than the rules are slightly different.
